Ferrite (ceramic) magnets are the most economical permanent magnets. While they are weaker than rare-earth magnets, their low cost and resistance to demagnetization make them ideal for refrigerator magnets, loudspeakers, and small household devices.


Temporary Magnets: Magnetism on Demand

Temporary magnets only become magnetized when exposed to a strong external magnetic field and lose their magnetism once the field is removed. A classic example is a paperclip that sticks to a magnet but does not remain magnetized afterward.


These magnets are typically made from soft iron or similar materials and are used in applications where short-term magnetism is required. In many electrical and mechanical systems, temporary magnets play a supporting role by enhancing or directing magnetic fields.


Electromagnets: Controlled Magnetic Power

Electromagnets generate a magnetic field through electric current rather than permanent material magnetism. Because they can be turned on and off, electromagnets provide precise control that permanent magnets cannot offer.


They are widely used in electric motors, industrial lifting equipment, medical imaging devices, and automated manufacturing systems. Among all types of magnets, electromagnets are essential wherever adjustable magnetic strength is required.


Flexible Magnets: Adaptable and Lightweight

Flexible magnets are made by combining magnetic powder, usually ferrite, with rubber or plastic binders. Unlike rigid magnets, they can bend, twist, and be cut into custom shapes.


These magnets are commonly used in advertising displays, refrigerator seals, educational tools, and lightweight signage. While their magnetic strength is relatively low, their flexibility makes them ideal for everyday commercial use.
